ENG. Andrea Robredo is a girl I am pretty sure you will hear more about in the near future! Not only because she is a fantastic designer who works for one of the newest and hottest fashion houses in the world (the name is confidential due to the fact that the house indeed is very reserved), but also because she is unique and quite magical and these qualities definitely shows in her personal style!

She is based in London and every time she goes out she rocks the city! She is one of the only people I know who can wear even a garbage bag and still manages to make it look amazing! She is talented as her own stylist! Her style shows her personality, which is explosive, loveable, fun and full of surprises!

So here I want to share with you guys some of her thoughts on her personal style because it is one that for sure deserves to be highlighted!

What do you want to be when you grow up?

That's the problem, I always wanted to be a designer, even though I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy dream job. My second option was to become a makeup artist or going into drama (I think I could have been quite good, as I am a bit of a drama queen).

Describe yourself in 5 words…

Imaginative, easy going and a bit... crazy?

Ups I guess those are only three words, hahahaha

How would you define your personal style?

Eclectic, sleek, although there is always time to be a bit more fun... I guess my priority is not always comfort.

 

What inspired you?

My mom, my family and my friends always inspired me, and they keep me going!

 

Fashion is?

A mirror where everything reflects, fashion is many things, eclectic! It is fun, it’s serious, it’s intellectual, it’s superficial, it’s a business and it’s a kind of art.

 

5 pieces in your closet you can’t live without?

An amazing pair of heels and by amazing I mean those ones you could walk naked into a bar and people would still look at your feet! A good pair of dark skinny jeans, a good quality silk blouse in ivory or black, FUR (anything in fur counts so here you can be imaginative) and a crystal sheer black stockings with back seam (they literally make you 5cms taller from the back), oh and a sexy sleek black dress!

3 pieces no woman should live without?

A tuxedo that can be 2 pieces or sometimes 3, but you got to wear it all at once! A classic fitted coat in black or camel, a classic high heeled black patent pumps, plus all of the 5 pieces in the question above!! :-)

 

Who is the best designer out there today?

Tricky question!! I really wanted to say myself! haha

But if I have to choose someone else it will be part my mom and Riccardo Tisci who is doing the right thing, at the right Maison, at the right moment. (Creative Director for Givenchy)

 

If you could spend the day with a fashion icon, dead or alive, who would it be?

Things are getting more and more difficult in this questionnaire!!! I can’t pick just one, so you guys choose: Elsa Schiaparelli, Cristobal Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent.

Be always yourself, the BEST first impression is a good smile and a fragrance for others to remember you... Then always carry with you the most flattering shade of lipstick and some unforgettable perfume!

No sólo porque es una fantástica diseñadora y trabaja para una de las más nuevas y mejores casas de moda que el mundo tiene en este momento (el nombre de la casa es confidencial ya que la casa de moda es muy reservada) pero también porque ella es única y tiene un tipo de magia ¡que de verdad se refleja en su estilo personal!

¿Qué te gustaría ser cuando seas grande? 

Ese es el problema, siempre quise ser diseñadora aunque sabía que no iba a ser un trabajo fácil o ideal. Mi segunda opción era ser una artista de maquillaje o entrar en el teatro (yo creo que hubiera sido muy buena para eso ya que soy una reina del drama).

Imaginativa, fácil de llevar y pues sí, algo… ¿loca?

¿Cómo definirías tu estilo personal? 

Ecléctica, elegante, aunque algunas veces hay que ser divertido... Mi prioridad nunca es el estar cómoda.

 

¿Qué te inspira? 

Mi madre, mi familia y mis amigos siempre me inspiran ¡y eso siempre me lleva hacia adelante!  

¿La moda es…? 

¡Un espejo que refleja todo! La moda es todo, es ecléctica, es divertida, es seria, es intelectual, es superficial, es un negocio, y una especie de arte.

Menciona 5 piezas de tu guardarropa sin las cuales no podrías vivir…

Un increíble par de tacones altos, de esos que aunque entres a un bar desnuda ¡la gente se quedaria de todas maneras viendo los zapatos! Un buen par de skinny jeans oscuros, una blusa de calidad de seda ya sea negra o Havana, pieles (cualquier cosa en piel aquí, así que puedes tener imaginación) y unas medias transparentes negras con una línea de costura detrás (esto literalmente te va hacer ver 5 centímetros más alta), ¡ahhh! y un elegente vestido negro.

Dime 3 piezas que toda mujer debería tener

Un esmoquin de 2 ó 3 piezas, ¡que tienes que ponerte todas al mismo tiempo! Un abrigo clásico, ya sea negro o color camello, un par de clásicos zapatos altos negros cerrados, ¡y las 5 piezas que mencioné antes! :)

¿Quién es el mejor diseñador para tí hoy en día?

¡Pregunta capciosa! La verdad quisiera decir yo misma, jeje. Pero si tengo que escoger alguien aparte de mí, seria en parte mi mamá y Riccardo Tisci, quien esta haciendo lo correcto, en la casa de modas correcta, ¡en el momento correcto! (Director creativo de Givenchy)

¿Si pudieras pasar un día con un ícono de la moda, vivo o muerto, con quién lo pasarías?

Se siempre tú mismo, y las mejores primeras impresiones se dan con una sonrisa fantástica y una fragancia con la cual otros te pueda recordar… ¡Entonces siempre carga un color de lápiz labial que te quede bien y un perfume inolvidable!

What I am into this month ? Miu Miu shoes and my new blue Givenchy glasses!- ¿Que esta súper cool para mí este mes? ¡Los botines de Miu Miu y mis nuevas gafas azules de Givenchy!

My personal style is very similar to my personality, it is full of contrasting and contradictive elements that you may love or not, but that always make a statement!  Not quite sure if it is always a good or bad one but it is definitely me!

That is why I have been craving these Miu Miu shoes since I saw them at their fashion show in Paris. They are just  what my personality and style is all about.

Contrasting materials, such as satin and suede, mix together in a booty chunky heel, a different and unconventional shoe! The colors are black and off white, just the way situations in life are for Juana: black or white and through the years of experience with a little gray in between… The shoes are elegant and chic but at the same time funky! They also look strong  but at the same time they are sweet and cute!  

Since I am a shopaholic and I have been trying to control myself, (not an easy thing to do) and therefore I waited until the end of the season to get these shoes on sale! You should have seen my face of disappointment when I went to the Miu Miu Store in Milan to find out they were completely sold out! But since I am not a girl who gives up that easily, I started to research all over the web for them. And lucky me I found the last pair of a 37.5  at Net-à-Porter! Thanks to them I was able to find these stunning shoes for half their price! And I am not planning to take them off until the winter is over!

My new blue Givenchy glasses are  more a necessity than an impulsive buy. As some of you may know, age doesn't come  alone and therefore the older I am the less I see! So instead of ignoring the cruel reality as I have been trying to do for the past year, I decided to confront it with style, that is why I got these chic but super cool Givenchy blue glasses! This was again another great Net-à-Porter buy and they definitely show a bit of another side of my personality, the out of the ordinary, bit crazy, different and fun part of it!

So yes as I may say, my style is always a signature of my soul!

ESP.  ¿Que esta súper cool para mí este mes?

¡Los botines de Miu Miu y mis nuevas gafas azules de Givenchy!

Mi estilo es muy similar a mi personalidad, esáa lleno de elementos contrastantes y contradictorios que a lo mejor te pueden encantar o a lo mejor no, pero siempre logran cautivarte o llamarte la atención. No estoy segura si para bien o para mal, ¡pero de seguro siempre son muy yo! 

Por eso estaba deseando comprar estos zapatos de Miu Miu que vi en el último desfile en París. Los zapatos representan un poco mi personalidad y mi estilo en general.

Tienen materiales contrastantes, satín y gamuza, todo junto en unas botines con un tacón grueso pero diferente y no convencional. Los colores son negro y blanco crudo así como Juana ve las situaciones de la vida: blancas o negras y con los años de experiencia con un poco de gris en la mitad... ¡Los zapatos son elegantes, chic y al mismo tiempo tienen un toque de originalidad! Tienen un look fuerte pero al mismo tiempo son lindos y  delicados. 

Como yo sufro por ser adicta a las compras y estoy tratando de controlarme, me esperé hasta el final de la temporada para comprar estos zapatos en las rebajas (créanme que no fue algo fácil de hacer). ¡Y tenían que ver mi cara de desilusión cuando fui a la tienda de Miu Miu en Milán y descubrí que estaban agotados! Pero como no soy una persona que se da por vencida tan fácil empecé una búsqueda intensa por internet hasta que encontré ¡el ultimo par de 37.5 en Net-à-Porter! Gracias a ellos pude encontrar estos zapatos que son divinos y aún mejor, a mitad de precio ¡y pues obvio no planeo quitármelos hasta que se acabe el invierno!

Mis nuevas gafas azules de Givenchy son más una necesidad que una compra compulsiva.  Como muchos saben, la vejez no llega sola y por eso ¡entre mas años tengo menos veo! Y entonces, en vez de ignorar la cruda realidad como me la he pasado haciendo este último año, decidí enfrentarla con estilo y por eso me compré estas gafas divinas azules de Givenchy. Esta fue otra compra fantástica que hice en línea en el sitio de Net-à-Porter y estas gafas definitivamente muestran otra parte de mi personalidad: ¡la parte un poco loca, fuera de lo común y divertida!

¡Entonces como siempre digo mi estilo es la firma de mi alma!

When classic Meets Hot: Louboutin black high heel boots!- ¡Botas altas de Louboutin!

ENG. A classic style is a bit conservative and minimalistic. The wardrobe of someone who has a classic style consists of clean and straight lines and lot of neutral colors, as well as black and navy garments. A classic style is beautiful but simple. It is timeless, never goes out of fashion, it is a bit more silent but always graceful.

A person who likes a classic style is more interested in high investment in dressing up. Meaning they will spend more money on clothing and accessories of quality that can last forever!

For that reason, I was not surprised when my friend Noelle decided to buy these amazing boots by Louboutin. She is a classic beauty and she has a very chic classic style! I personally believe we all have a bit of this style within us and that is why I wanted to share this post with you guys too! These boots are a piece of art! In their minimalistic and somewhat understated presence they are the result of chic classic perfection. Only a master as Monsieur Louboutin could make such a classic look so hot! Enjoy the photos!

ESP. Un estilo clásico es algo conservador y minimalista. El guardaropa de alguien que tiene un estilo clásico está compuesto de líneas rectas, colores neutros, al igual que el negro y el azul marino.  El look es simple pero hermoso. Un estilo clásico no pasa de moda, es más silencioso que otros estilos pero está lleno de gracia y de buen gusto.

A las personas que les gusta un estilo clásico les interesa investir en vestirse. ¡Esto quiere decir que son más propensas a pagar un poco más para tener ropa y accesorios de calidad que puedan durar para siempre!

How would you define your personal style?

Just like that: extremely ‘’personal’’ and eclectic.  Sometimes I’m a sexy Marilyn, sometimes I’m a classy Audrey, and sometimes I just go Gaga… but I am always faithful to my soul. I dress for me, myself and I. I definitely think that fashion is just an amazing connection with your soul, there’s nothing between the way you dress and the way you are. Dressing is just one of the closest and deepest personal connections we have with ourselves.

What inspires you?

People. I see myself as a good observer, I like to catch people’s feelings and styles in almost every place/city I go… and there’s nothing like street style to get real fashion inspiration and make it yours. Music of course inspires me too; art, TV shows, and movies as well. My mom inspires me a lot; even my lovely grandma still inspires me.  A great song can define my outfit’s mood sometimes, the weather, travelling… Don’t you think that you can actually get inspiration from almost everything on Earth and beyond? :)

Fashion is…?

My DOGMA. I’d like to quote Coco Chanel for this one: ‘’Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only, Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.’’ The way we dress is an amazing expression of art, social and cultural backgrounds, universal feelings… I mean fashion is the coolest expression of art and we also need it! Just see it like this… after eating and sleeping, what’s the next thing we all gotta do? GET DRESSED.

Well lately…My chain bag, black pumps, my black blazer, striped skirt, and of course sequins!

A white shirt for self-esteem, a black blazer for strength, and a great pair of sexy-heels.

Who is the best designer out there today?

WOW this is a tough one! I truly believe that there’s no reason to pick one great designer today with all this crazy wave of new talent on runways around the world. Every designer has something unique to offer to this fashion world that we love so much. BUT… if you want me to give you a name I’m a Stella McCartney’s big fan.

If you could spend the day with a fashion icon dead or alive who would it be?

Aww this one makes me nostalgic, I definitely would like to spend a great day with my grandmother Ana Josefa (AKA Pepa 1915-1989), who was a well known dressmaker in her town around from the ‘30s to the ‘50s. She really was my first Fashion Icon and I just got to know her the first 5 years of my life. I still remember how captivated I was by her warm soul, how avant-garde she was and her great sense of style. She was a very unique woman, for real… So if I could spend the day with a fashion icon it would be her. I would show her how strong her influence has been on me, and how she is by my side in every single step I take in the fashion world either as a Blogger, Journalist, Reporter or Trends & Fashion Consultant.

A Great fashion tip you can share with Juana’s readers?

Stay brave & confident that’s the first shirt you have to put on… after that one, just dress to Kill Bill…

ESP. Yo creo que tu estilo es la firma de tu alma. Tu estilo lo define tu personalidad y lo que eres por dentro. Entre más particular y única tu personalidad, tu estilo es más explosivo e interesante y eso se ve no sólo en cómo te vistes sino en tu vida en general.  Por eso mismo decidí crear una serie de Estilo Personal. En esta serie entrevistaré a algunas personas que en mi opinión tienen un estilo único, no sólo por cómo se visten si no por su manera de vivir la vida. Mmmm, a lo mejor una Mega Estrella de Rock… La verdad es que ya lo soy (en mi mente obviamente). ¡Yo creo que todas las mujeres nos deberíamos de tratar como trataríamos a nuestra estrella de rock favorita!  ¡Tú tienes que ser tu fan numero UNO! Es triste ver como algunas mujeres tienen poca autoestima, por eso sólo hay que confiar y amarse a uno mismo porque es el único modo que podemos convertirnos en las personas que queremos ser.

¿Como definirías tu estilo personal?

Así como dices tú, ¡extremamente “personal“ y ecléctico! Algunas veces soy sexy como Marilyn, algunas veces soy clásica como Audrey y algunas veces soy GAGA… pero siempre soy sincera con mi alma y me visto para mí misma. Yo creo que la moda tiene una conexión maravillosa con tu alma, no hay nada entre tú y el modo como te vistes, es una de las conexiones personales más profundas y cercanas que puedas tener: el vestir.

¿Qué te inspira?

La gente. Yo soy una buena observadora y me gusta captar los sentimientos de las personas y sus estilos en cada sitio y ciudad que voy… y no hay nada como el estilo de la calle para inspirarte y hacerlo tuyo.  Por supuesto, también la música me inspira, el arte, los programas de la televisión o una película. Mi mamá me inspira muchísimo y también mi preciosa abuela.  Una gran canción siempre crea  la atmósfera de mis atuendos, el clima, el viajar… En fin, ¿no crees que uno puedes inspirarse de casi todo lo que existe en la tierra y mas allá?

¿La moda es…?

Mi DOGMA. Como decia Coco Chanel “La moda no es algo que existe solamente en los vestidos, la moda está en los cielos, en las calle, la moda tiene que ver con las ideas, el modo en que vivimos, con lo que sucede diariamente”. El modo en que nos vestimos es una maravillosa expresión de arte, orígenes socio culturales y sentimientos globales. Lo que quiero decir es que la moda es la expresión mas chévere que tiene el arte y la verdad  es algo que necesitamos… Mírenlo así: después de comer y dormir ¿cuál es la primera cosa que hacemos? ¡Vestirnos!

Últimamente, mi cartera de cadena, mis tacones negros, mi chaqueta de traje negra, mi mini falda de rayas y mi mini falda de lentejuelas!

Una camisa blanca para la autoestima, una chaqueta de traje negro para fortaleza y un par de tacones altos sexy.  

¿Quién es el mejor diseñador para tí hoy en día?

Esta pregunta sí está difícil, yo soy de las que creo que uno no debería escoger un solo diseñador ya que hay mucho talento en todo el mundo. Todo diseñador tiene algo único para ofrecer en este mundo de la moda que amamos tanto. Pero si tengo que dar un nombre diría que soy una fan total de Stella McCartney.

Aww esta pregunta me da nostalgia, definitivamente sería mi abuela Ana Josefa (AKA PEPA 1915-1989), quien era una aclamada sastre en su pueblo entre los años 30 y 50. Ella fue mi primer ícono de la moda. Yo sólo pasé los primeros 5 años de mi vida con ella y todavía me acuerdo lo cautivada que estaba por su tierna alma, lo moderna que era y su maravilloso estilo del vestir. Ella fue una mujer única de verdad, entonces sería fantástico para mí poder conocerla mejor y poder mostrarle como influenció mi vida, especialmente en todo lo que hago como blogger, periodista y consultora de moda.

ESP. ¿Que les parece si enfrentamos la temporada de lluvias con estilo? ¡Aquí en mi oficina definitivamente lo estamos haciendo! ¡Tus botas de lluvia no necesariamente tienen que ser aburridas compralas en colores vivos o con detalles femeninos! ¡Esto de seguro va animar tu día gris y lluvioso!

What I am into this month? Timex Watch and Brazilian Wish Ribbons!

ENG. What I am into this month?
Last month I went to Brazil for a wedding in São Paulo and it was a totally amazing experience! I love celebrations and especially one that celebrates love, so it is understandable that during the wedding I got a bit “carried away” and while I was tipsy to the point of drunk got myself 3 Wish Ribbons on my left wrist. Brazilian Wish Ribbons, known in Brazil as “Fitas do Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia,” are ribbons that you tie on your wrist with 3 knots and you make a wish for each knot you tie. It is believed that as soon the ribbon falls off (on its own) the wishes come true! And lucky me (contrary from what people told me) one of mine fell last week!  I still have two more left and they are so stylish that I decided to accompany them with a cool retro watch! Again, a random choice since I haven’t worn a watch since I was 18 years old, but I guess there is always time for change, don’t you think guys?  So, when I was in Paris for Fashion Week I went to my favorite store, Colette, and got myself this super fun retro watch from Timex! Love the 80’s style of the watch. It is the perfect match for my ribbons, I am definitely digging them this month!

ESP. ¿Que está super cool para mí este mes?
¡El mes pasado estuve en São Paulo, Brasil para una boda, una experiencia maravillosa! Me encantan las celebraciones, especialmente una que celebra el amor, entonces es comprensible que me deje llevar por los traguitos en la boda y termine con 3 pulseras de cintas para pedir deseos en mi muñeca izquierda. Las pulseras de cintas para pedir deseos Brasileras, o como oficialmente las llaman en Brasil “Fitas do Senhor do Bonfim da Bahia”, son pulseras que amarras con tres nudos en la muñeca y en cada nudo pides un deseo. Se cree que cuando las pulseras se caen por sí mismas ¡el deseo se cumple! Y como yo soy una suertuda, la semana pasada (contrario a lo que me decía todo el mundo) ¡se me cayó una! Todavía me quedan dos y créanme que me encantan y me parecen tan cool que decidí acompañarlas con un reloj retro. Esta decisión es también un poco fuera de lo común...¡la última vez que Juana usó un reloj tenía 18 años! ¿Pero siempre es bueno cambiar un poco no? Por eso cuando estuve en Paris para la semana de la moda fui a mi tienda favorita, Colette, y me compré un súper reloj retro de Timex! Adoro el look ochentero del reloj y queda perfecto al lado de mis pulseras! ¡Me encantan!

ENG.Juana’s relationship with heels is surely one of love and hate, exactly the same as her  last “love” story. Sometimes she loves them, sometimes she cannot stand them, sometimes she feels in heaven, sometimes they make her feel in hell, but at the end she knows she can never live without them even if it just means they just stay in the closet as friends.

I love shoes in general; my friends the flip flops, my lovers the ballarinas, but those shoes with heels are just the ONE. Some years ago I broke my foot and basically the doctor told me I should not wear heels anymore, but of course I didn’t listen because how can you say goodbye to the love of your life?

So as painful as it can be, I still wear them for special occasions and of course for some others, because there is nothing sexier and more empowering than a woman in heels.

ESP.La relación de Juana con sus tacones es una de amor y odio, exactamente como su última relación “amorosa”. Algunas veces los ama, otras veces no los soporta, algunas veces la hacen sentir en las nubes y otras veces en el mismo infierno, pero al final ella sabe que no podría vivir sin ellos así eso signifique tenerlos en el armario como amigos.

Yo adoro los zapatos en general, mis amigas las chanclas, mis amantes las bailarinas, pero definitivamente los tacones son el amor de mi vida. Algunos años atrás me rompí el pie y el doctor básicamente me dijo que no podría volver a ponerme tacones, pero obvio no hice caso porque como puede uno decirle adiós al amor de su vida?

Entonces aunque es doloroso me sigo poniendo mis tacones para ocasiones especiales (¡y para otras ocasiones también!), porque no hay nada más sexy y poderoso que una mujer en tacones.
