Happy- Pharrell

ENG. As some of you may have notice I haven't been writing lately... A close family member has been sick and this  has affected me quite a lot.. When things like this happens it makes you think about everything in your life... What is really worth it, what you really value and what you really want out of this life... And you start appreciating more simple things like a call, a smile, a moment, a friend, a laugh,  a song just like this one from pharrell... 24hours of happy... Here for you guys:)

ESP. Como algunos de ustedes han notado no escrito mucho últimamente. Tengo un familiar cercano enfermo y esto me ha afectado mucho... Cuando cosas así pasan te hacen pensar mucho sobre tu vida... Que es verdaderamente importante, que tiene valor para ti,que quieres realmente para tu vida... Y allí es cuando empiezas ha apreciar cosas simples como una llamada, una sonrisa, un abrazo, un amigo, una risa, un momento, una canción como esta de pharrell... 24 horas de felicidad... Aquí se las comparto un beso a todos:)

The first time- La primera vez

ENG. Near my house there is a sign that says: when was the last time you did something for the first time? I have been passing that sign for the past month and it kept ticking in my mind... When was the last time I did something for the first time? I surely enjoy first times, that was one of the reasons I decided to come to Italy, to learn a new language. Every day for me in Italy was like a first time because every day  I learned a new word, a new thing about the culture, etc. That is also the reason why I travel so much and had also promise myself to visit at least two new places each year, because the first time of something, even though it may be scary, is always exciting and can end up being a wonderful experience that you will always remember. So with that in mind I decided this summer to do something that for many of you is a given, but for me is a first time: I learned how to drive.

While I was in Formentera we rented the twizy’s cars from Renault. I must tell you this cars are not only good for the environment - they are electric - but are much better than a motorino since they are small enough to fit everywhere when there are limited parking options but big enough to carry all your stuff. My great friend Hugo taught me how to drive in the twizy (because he is just adorable) and he had the patience of guiding me through the process! Can't wait to practice more to finally get my car for Christmas!

ESP. Cerca de mi casa hay un letrero que dice: ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que hiciste algo por la primera vez? He estado pasado por este letrero los últimos meses y se me ha impregnado en la mente... ¿Cuándo fue la última vez que hice algo por la primera vez? A mi definitivamente me gustan las primeras veces, esa es la razón principal por la cual decidí irme a Italia para aprender un nuevo idioma, ya que cada día es como aprender algo nuevo, una nueva palabra, algo nuevo de la cultura, etc. Esa es también la razón por la cual me gusta viajar tanto y por la cual me he prometido a visitar al menos dos lugares nuevos cada año, porque las primeras veces de algo, aunque pueden dar miedo, son emocionantes y casi siempre terminan en una experiencia maravillosa y difícil de olvidar. Entonces teniendo eso en cuenta este verano decidí hacer algo por la primera vez, que para algunos de ustedes es algo que a lo mejor ya hicieron hace mucho tiempo: aprender a manejar.

Mientras estaba en Formentera alquilamos los carros twizy de la Renault. Tengo que confesarles que estos carros son increíbles, no solo son buenos para el ambiente ya que son eléctricos, sino que además son mucho mejor que una moto ya que son lo suficientemente pequeños para caber en cualquier parte y lo suficientemente grandes para llevar todas tus cosas. Mi gran amigo Hugo me ayudó a aprender a manejar en el twizy (porque él es adorable) y tuvo la paciencia de guiarme en el proceso. ¡No puedo esperar a finalmente comprarme un carro para Navidad!

Change- Cambio

ENG. So, lately, I have been thinking about getting older, growing up and moving on and foward... Maybe it's because I have been going through the transition of changing houses after 6 years of living in the old one, the house where I lived alone for the first time. Also it may be that the new one is actually a grown up house and not a college student one. Or maybe it's just that I have been going through old stuff, throwing away  old "memories"  that don't fit the person I am anymore or add anything good to me... Keeping just the memories that have made me grow up even if they were not that nice, and getting  new stuff; in the hope of making new memories,  much better than the old ones because as you grow, you get wiser... 

Transition and change always implies growing up, and getting to know yourself a bit better... To make crucial decisions hoping that in the long run they are going to be the best for you... To be more sure of what you want and what you don't want in your life... Change, and growing up, is not an easy thing to accept... I never thought about it but it hurts inside as your bones use to hurt as a kid. It happens slowly and you need to have a lot of patience... But at the end even though change and growing up is composed of different elements like fear, anxiety, excitement and happiness, all together like in a roller coaster, the expectation that a better woman is on the making and on the rise is much more motivating than getting off the ride to stop the change.

ESP. Últimamente he pensando en el proceso de crecer, volverse adulto y seguir hacia adelante, avanzando... A lo mejor es porque estoy pasando por la transición de cambiarme de casa después de haber vivido 6 años en la casa vieja donde viví sola por primera vez.También puede ser que la nueva casa es una casa para adultos y no para un estudiante. O simplemente es que he estado revisando cosas viejas, tirando viejos recuerdos que ya no van con la persona que soy ahora o que ya no me aportan nada bueno... Dejando solo las memorias que me han hecho crecer así no hayan sido tan buenas, y adquiriendo cosas nuevas con la esperanza de crear nuevos recuerdos, mucho mejores que los anteriores, porque como dicen, a medida que uno crece uno se vuelve más sabio.

Transición y cambio siempre implican madurar y conocerse así mismo un poco mejor... El tomar decisiones cruciales que a la larga esperamos que sean para el bien de uno... El ser más consciente de qué queremos y de qué no queremos en nuestras vidas... Cambiar y crecer no es algo fácil... Nunca pensé que me  incomodaría tanto, como cuando tus huesos están creciendo cuando eres niño. Este proceso sucede despacio y toca tener mucha paciencia... Pero al final, aunque los cambios y el proceso de crecer están compuestos de diferentes elementos como miedo, ansiedad,  entusiasmo y felicidad, todos juntos como en una montaña rusa, la expectativa de que una mejor  mujer se está desarrollando o creando es una mayor motivación que el bajarse del viaje y parar el cambio.

Prince Charming- El principe azul

ENG. So, recently I was told that I have too much imagination in terms of love...  And my friend may be quite right because let’s face it, I grew up in front of the TV watching fairy tales and telenovelas so yes, my mind is very much on the crazy side, but as other friends say that is what makes Juana "special".  Afterwards reflecting at my house I realized this is an attitude I have in general for life;  because if you don't allow yourself to dream big and go beyond what you see, how can you expect to be successful in life? I prefer to take risks, to walk on the clouds, to fall in love, to dream forever and to never conform to what I see or give up...because I truly believe that if we allow ourselves to think big, even if the falls can be quite hard and painful you can gain more like that than not expecting more or anything out of life. I have always had an urge inside me that doesn't allow me to settle in life, that makes me have vision... so why should this urge be exclusively for  the sake of money or work? Well guys I may disappoint you but I have to confess that after 31 years Juana still believes in her own version of Prince Charming, because in my opinion life can be too boring without imagination. Specially when all great things in life have all started with a dream and passion.

ESP. Recientemente alguien me dijo que yo tengo mucha imaginación, especialmente en el amor y que me monto en una sola película. Y pues mi amiga tiene razón porque yo crecí al frente del televisor viendo cuentos de hadas y telenovelas, la combinación perfecta para tirarse la cabeza de una niña como Juana, por eso dicen mis amigos que yo soy "especial". Después reflexionando en mi casita me di cuenta que esta es una actitud en general que yo tengo sobre la vida, porque si uno no sueña en grande ¿cómo puede uno esperar el tener éxito más adelante? Yo prefiero tomar riesgos, montarme en una sola nube, enamorarme locamente, prefiero soñar por siempre y no conformarme con nada y nunca dejar de luchar... sinceramente creo que al dejarnos  llevar por nuestros sueños, (aunque las caídas sean más dolorosas) ganamos más que con esperar poco o nada de la vida. Siempre he tenido una sensación dentro de mi que no me deja conformarme que me hace tener visión y no creo que esta sensación sea exclusivamente para tener plata o para cuestiones de trabajo. Entonces a lo mejor los decepcionaré pero tengo que confesarles que Juana  a sus 31 años todavía cree en su versión del príncipe azul porque en mi opinión la vida puede ser muy aburrida sin imaginación. Especialmente cuando las cosas  grandes de esta vida siempre han empezado gracias a un sueño o la pasión de alguien.

Destinations: Rio de Janeiro!

ENG. If there is a city that can take our breath away, it is Rio de Janeiro... It is a city about beauty, of amazing nature, full of people who are beautiful inside and out, amazing food and drinks and with a carefree mentality that is difficult not to assimilate. Like a friend always says: “what can Brazilians do? they were just born with great genes, they are meant to be as beautiful as their land!" And Rio is a clear example of that. The Cristo Redentor in Corcovado mountain, the Sugarloaf mountain, Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana beaches and even the favelas; they all have a magical feel that makes me always think "how can these people work in such a paradise???" People in Rio are friendly, always smiling no matter what, because the beauty of life is to smile even when things are not quite the way you want. So what can I say: Rio is a intriguing, relaxing and fun city all at the same time, the perfect mood for a vacation and to come back to Milan to start this new season! Enjoy the photos and video!

ESP. Si hay una ciudad que nos quita el respiro, esa ciudad definitivamente es Río de Janeiro. Es una ciudad llena de belleza, hermosa naturaleza, con gente linda por dentro y por fuera, excelente comida y traguitos y con una filosofía de vivir la vida libremente, difícil de no querer imitar. Como un amigo mío siempre dice: " ¿que pueden hacer los brasileños? Han nacido con fantásticos genes, y están destinados a ser hermosos ¡como su tierra!” Y obviamente Río es un claro ejemplo de esto. El Cristo Redentor del Corcovado, el Pan de Azúcar, las playas de Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblón y hasta las favelas, todos contribuyen a la magia fabulosa de esta ciudad que me hace pensar : "¿cómo puede trabajar la gente en este paraíso?" La gente en Río es amigable, siempre están alegres no importa qué pase, porque como dicen por allí al mal tiempo buena cara. ¿Entonces qué más les puedo decir? Río es una ciudad intrigante, relajada y divertida al mismo tiempo, tiene la perfecta atmósfera para unas vacaciones ideales y para comenzar una nueva estación. ¡Disfruten las fotos y el video!

ENG. While I was in Zurich a few weeks ago I decided to just walk on my own and get lost in the beautiful streets, admiring the beauty... The best way to make a heart heal, is to wander around in silence until you find your way again...here is the beauty of Zurich...

ESP. Mientras estaba en Zúrich hace unas semanas decidí irme a caminar sola y perderme en las hermosas calles mientras admiraba la belleza de esa ciudad… Porque esa es la mejor manera de sanar un corazón, dar vueltas en silencio hasta que vuelvas a encontrar tu camino… aquí les presento a la hermosa Zúrich...

ENG. I usually don't watch cartoon movies, but the movie Brave called my attention. In particular, because it reminded me of my little niece Sara and of me while I was growing up. This movie talks about brave adventure-seeking girls, who may be seen a bit tomboyish but the truth is that they are unique. These type of girls see the world in a different way and with a different eye, and dream about a life they have not experienced yet! It is a an empowering movie with beautiful and great life lessons. So come and check the trailer because it is a movie you shouldn't miss.

 

ESP. Usualmente no me gustan las películas de muñequitos pero la película Indomable (Brave) me llamó mucho la atención porque me trajo recuerdos de mi sobrina Sara y de mí misma cuando era pequeña. Esta película habla sobre jovencitas valientes y aventureras, que puede que parezcan un poco toscas, pero la verdad es que son únicas. Esta clase de niñas ven el mundo de una manera diferente, con un ojo diferente, y sueñan con una vida que aún no han experimentado. Es una película que te hace sentir más fuerte, con hermosas y maravillosas lecciones de vida. Se las recomiendo ampliamente porque de verdad vale la pena.
