Personal Style: The Little Black Dress- El Pequeño Vestido Negro

 

ENG. I love black, I wear it a lot. I think black is a wonderful color, it is elegant, it is sexy, and it is just hot… I love a dress, a short one. I think they are so feminine; they make you look so free and young... A short dress is my favorite piece in my wardrobe, and a black one is one that I can wear all year long.

 

The little black dress is a statement. It was introduced by Coco Chanel in the 20’s to satisfy women's need for comfort and versatility as the role of women was changing around the world. And ever since, the little black dress has transcended trends and has become timeless.  

I love the little black dress; I actually own tons of variations of it. For me the little black dress is more than a basic, it is an essential piece of my wardrobe that I can wear in any occasion, like a party or going to work. My little black dresses are never boring or simple, because I always play with fit, cut, fabric and details whenever I choose one. Regardless if you get it from a designer or a no name brand these elements are critical when you do your buy. For me the perfect little black dress has to have one of these elements or better yet, all of them in one, because in my opinion that is what brings my dress to life.

ESP. A mí me encanta el color negro, me lo pongo casi todo el tiempo especialmente en el invierno. Yo creo que el negro es un color ideal, es elegante, sexy y se ve genial. Me encanta un vestido, especialmente uno corto. Yo creo que un vestido corto te hace ver femenina, te hace sentir libre y joven… Un vestido corto es la pieza preferida de mi guardarropa ¡y uno negro es un vestido que me puedo poner todo el año!

 

A mí me encanta el pequeño vestido negro, en realidad yo tengo en mi guardarropa una cantidad de variaciones de este vestido. Para mí el vestido corto negro es más que un básico, es una  pieza esencial de mi closet, que me puedo poner en cualquier ocasión como una fiesta o para ir a trabajar. Mis vestidos negros no son aburridos porque siempre juegan con importantes elementos como un vestido que te quede bien físicamente, que tenga un corte interesante, que la tela no sea banal, y que tenga detalles interesantes. No importa si el vestido lo compraste de un diseñador famoso o de una marca sin nombre, en mi opinión siempre tienes que tener estos elementos en cuenta cuando compras un vestido corto negro. Para mí el perfecto vestido corto negro tiene que tener uno de estos elementos o mejor aun todos juntos, porque eso ¡es lo que porta un vestido negro a la vida!
